About & Safety
Certified glasses.
With an optical density of 5 or greater, our ISO 12312-2 compliant and CE certified eclipse glasses are independently tested and safe for all phases of the eclipse.
Why ISO 12312-2 matters
Ordinary sunglasses - even very dark ones - transmit thousands of times more sunlight than is safe for direct viewing. ISO 12312-2 is the international standard that certifies solar filters as safe for looking directly at the sun. Any glasses you use for the eclipse must meet this standard.
Inspect before every use
Hold the glasses up to a bright light. If you see any scratches, pinholes, or damage to the filter, throw them out.
Never look at the sun without them
Do not use cameras, binoculars, or telescopes with regular eclipse glasses - you need purpose-built solar filters for optics.
Trust certified suppliers
Counterfeits exist. Only order from suppliers who can provide documentation of ISO 12312-2 compliance.
